Give Thanks

give thanks

We had a "Thanksgiving Sleepover" at Robin and Christian's beautiful new home in Maple Valley. We woke up to this:

giving thanks

Robin and I killed it (it helps when you have a huge gourmet kitchen to cook in). Thanksgiving is one giant game of coordination - what should go in the oven when, at what temperature, and can the turkey be done in time to roast the parsnips, or should we do the rolls first? It was an America's Test Kitchen Thanksgiving. Best stuffing I've ever had, and Ernie (our turkey) did us proud (though he took his sweet time).

And then there were the pies.

Taylor was determined to re-create his mother's German Chocolate Pie (Mary Anne's pies are legendary), which he did. All by himself.

I have a new favorite pie.

Robin's Cranberry Apple pie with Maple Pecan crumble was absolutely delicious.

A wonderful Thanksgiving. If you can't be with family, find friends as awesome as Robin and Christian.

Taylor, Thanksgiving 2010

Lots of lessons on gratitude in Church today, and I just can't stop thinking about how grateful I am for this cute boy. We've been through a lot together in the past 4.9 years, and I don't think I would have been able to get through any of it without him by my side to keep me going.

Oh, and how many times have I made him pose with food? Heaven knows why he still hangs around. Either he's out of his mind, or he just really likes my cooking.

You should all move to Seattle.

You're all missing out on an incredible fall here!

Tay & I ran the "Pumpkin Push" 5K over Halloween weekend at Seward Park (pictured above). Seward Park is a peninsula that juts into Lake Washington.

Whole Foods set up an entire pumpkin patch at the finish line, so we spun the wheel to win or free pumpkins.
Guess which one Taylor won?

All done. We got to represent Taylor's office. Pretty cool.

Taylor is the athlete.

Here he is, about to pass "P90x guy." BAM!

I look awkward no matter what. In typical Tally fashion, I panicked with the cold and wore 2 shirts plus a jacket, and two pairs of pants.

We drove home along Lake Washington Boulevard.

Good times.
